Prince Marketing Group Appointed Licensing Agent by Estate of Smokin Joe Frazier
Estate representatives of the late Smokin’ Joe Frazier have appointed Prince Marketing Group, who has served as the agent for Olympic and Undisputed World Heavyweight Champion Smokin’ Joe Frazier since 1994, to take care of the legend’s legacy. Frazier was diagnosed with liver cancer in late September 2011 and admitted to hospice care, passing away on November 7, 2011. Daughters of the late Smokin’ Joe, Renae Martin and Weata Colins, were named trustees of his estate and have called on officials at Prince Marketing Group to take over exclusive licensing responsibilities linked to their father.
The firm will manage all areas of licensing and merchandising of the Champion’s name and likeness. Prince Marketing Group will also oversee the preservation and archiving of Frazier memorabilia, as well as life story rights in preparation for future exploitation and film participation interests.
Darren Prince, CEO of Prince Marketing Group, added “Not only was Smokin’ Joe half of the greatest rivalry in the history of world sports (Frazier-Ali), but he was an incredible human being whose legacy we plan on carrying on forever.” Prince Marketing Group’s commercial licensing experience, together with the Joe Frazier Estate, are uniquely positioned to offer both image and personality rights efficiently for corporate clients and advertising due to the extensive collection of images in the archive.
